  1. Prof. Prashant V. Kamat, John A. Zahm, Professor of Science in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Radiation Laboratory and Concurrent Professor in the Department of Chemical and Bio molecular Engineering University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame USA. Visited PPISR on 30 Dec, 2011 and delivered lectures on “Nanostructured assemblies and light energy conversion” and “Publish or perish-Increasing the impact of scientific research”

  2. Prof. Fun Hoong Kun, Professor, School of Physics, Universiti Sain Malaysia spoke on "Structure determination of Natural products by X-ray" on 15th December 2011

  3. Shell Technology India Centre, Bangalore, a part of Royal Dutch Shell, is involved in R & D of upstream exploration and downstream chemical, gas and petroleum refinery operations, and bio fuels. A meeting was held on 1 December 2011 at PPISR for research collaboration to work in an area related to the Shell's interest. Dr. Laxmi Narasimhan, General Manger, R&D and Dr. Madusudan Rao, Scientist, attended the meeting on behalf of Shell India and all the members of Materials Science were present on behalf of PPISR. Later, PPISR team visited Shell Technology Centre, Bangalore to see their advanced research facilities in their R & D
  4. Axens is a French company involved internationally in advanced technologies, catalysts, adsorbents and services to the refining, petrochemical, gas and alternative fuels industries. Mr. Jean Sentenac, Chairman and CEO and Mr Jean-Paul Margotin, Managing Director, from Axens, France and Mr. Suresh, Chairman Axens India visited PPISR on 19th November 2011 and discussed about the possibility of collaborative research
  5. Dr. K. S. Rane, former Head of Chemistry Department, Goa University was invited to PPISR and he gave a talk on “Metal complexes as catalysts in enhancing oxygen scavenging action of hydrazine in boiler feed water” on October 10 2011 in Bidalur campus
  6. Dr. Veda Ramaswamy, retired Scientist G from Chemical Physics laboratory, Central Leather Research Institute (CLRI), Chennai gave a talk on, "Structural studies of microporous, crystalline molecular sieves of MFI type by Powder X-ray diffraction under non-ambient conditions" on 21 September 2011
  7. An industrial project sponsored by GTC technology, USA was initiated in Material Science department in Feb 2011.For this project, a fully automated micro-reactor catalyst testing unit was procured and installed at the institute during first week of April. After 5 months of research work, the concerned scientists from GTC, USA, Süd-Chemie, Germany and SCIL visited PPISR from 22-25, June 2011, for the first face to face meeting to review the project. Dr. ZhongYi (GTC), Dr. Köhler, Dr.Olivier (Süd-Chemie, Germany), Dr. Sabde (SCIL) and Dr. Prasad Rao (consultant to GTC) attended the 4 days meeting along with Dr. Halgeri and Dr. Shanbhag from PPISR. In addition to the research work, the matters related to filing patent and FTO were also discussed. The members in the meeting expressed their full satisfaction over the progress made during last 5 months.
  8. The famous Educationist and the Honorary Director of Poornaprajna Institute of Faculty Improvement, Bengaluru, Dr. Gururaja Karajagi, visited our Campus on the auspicious day of Akshaya Thriteeya May 6, 2011 in the presence of the Chairman H H Sri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji. The meeting which was attended by the faculty and students of PPISR began with a welcome address by the Director followed by the blessing of Swamiji. Then Dr. Gururaja Karajagi addressed the gathering and shared his experiences on the importance of achieving a doctoral degree. He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the founder chairman H H Sri Vibudhesha Theertha Swamiji's vision of retaining the talents within the country.
  9. Professor Seetharama A Acharya from Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, New York, USA visited PPISR on February 15, 2011 with an aim of collaboration on PEGylation Technology. PPISR arranged a meeting with him and his USA and Indian associates to discuss about the implementation of PEGylation technology at PPISR. Prof. Acharya in his presentation on “EAF PEGylation Technology” mentioned about his good old association with the members of PPISR management and wished to help this institute by doing research on PEGylation technology. His enthusiastic approach in establishing a technology centre at PPISR materialized in offering him Distinguished Visiting Professorship in biological Sciences of PPISR. He accepted this offer and agreed for initiating his research activities at PPISR.
  10. Dr. Amudheswari, the Director of the Indo-French Centre (IFC), New Delhi along with her team comprising of Mr. Mural and Dr. Rao visited the campus on February 08, 2011. After an overview of research activities of PPISR presented to her group; she opined that “Though she was biased to visit the campus, was very much impressed on visit in person to the campus and meeting the vibrant and enthusiastic team of dedicated researchers under the leadership of the Director Dr. A B Halgeri”. She also discussed various kinds of possible collaborations that are encouraged by IFC and gave our faculty a brief idea of how to put in effective proposals for funds and make collaborations.
  11. A team of faculty from Siddaganga Institute of Technology Tumkur visited Bidalur Campus on an Academic Interaction Understanding with PPISR. Among the team were Dr. K.L. Shivabasappa, head of the department of chemical engineering Dr. Raghavendra Char Pavgada, Dr. Naveen Nagaraj who are faculty in the same department. The faculty members of PPISR presented an overview of PPISR and talks on their fields of research. After a visit to the laboratories, faculty from both institutes agreed upon some collaborative research. The SIT professors also invited the PPISR faculty to their institute.

  2. Nov 28: A US delegation of scientists and delegates working on Environment, Safety, Security, Health and Industrial Hygiene, whose visit to our campus was arranged by Prof. B.S. Jai Prakash (Honorary Professor of PPISR).
  3. Oct 18: Dr. R. K. Sahu, Feinstein Institute of Medical Research, New York delivered a talk FTIR spectroscopy in disease diagnosis.
  4. Oct 20: Dr. Anil Halgeri, Surgeon, Hubli, Karnataka, India.
  5. June 10: Prof J. F. Baumard, CNRS, Paris, Prof. C. Delmas, ICMCB, Bordeaux, J. Etorneau, ICMCB, Bordeaux, and B. Raveau, CRISMAT, Caen.
